Some brands become more than products. They become part of people's lives, carried quietly from one generation to the next. Ivory has earned that place.
Working on Ivory at different points in its history was both an honor and a privilege. It was impossible to separate the work from the memories of my grandmother's bath, where Ivory soap floated in the tub. Years later, helping shape new expressions of the brand—from laundry detergent and dish soap to body wash and moisturizers—felt less like creating something new and more like caring for something that already mattered. Even Ivory for the Russian market became an exercise in stewardship.
Stewardship asks for humility. It means understanding what should never change while thoughtfully deciding what can. Brand guidelines become an act of stewardship, preserving the thinking behind the work so future designers, writers, photographers, and marketers can create new expressions while remaining true to the brand's character. Some of the most meaningful creative work isn't about leaving a personal signature. It's about ensuring a brand remains worthy of the trust it has spent generations earning.
